DANDA #030 — SafeVisit AI: End Hospital Visitor Mismanagement with Autonomous Agentic Automation

Hospitals are supposed to be secure, healing places, but visitor management is a daily disaster. Front desks are overwhelmed, paper logs are still common, and policies change by the hour. The result: unauthorized visitors slip through, patients aren’t protected, and staff spend hours a week on tedious manual checks. With over 6,000 hospitals in the US and nearly 34 million admissions each year, the scale of the chaos is staggering.

The problem

Hospitals face a massive challenge balancing safety, patient experience, and workflow efficiency when it comes to visitors. Here’s the reality:

The existing solutions are fragmented badge printers, sign-in apps, and human guards—none of which adapt dynamically or orchestrate end-to-end compliance and safety.

The idea: SafeVisit AI

SafeVisit AI is an agentic automation platform that acts as the autonomous nerve center for all hospital visitor flows. It fully automates:

One AI agent, always up-to-date, always enforcing, always learning from feedback—and freeing up clinical and administrative staff for patients, not paperwork.

Architecture

Inputs Web, Kiosks, API Ingestion OCR, Face ID, HL7 Memory / Graph Visitor, Policy Graph Agent Orchestrator Policy, Routing Human Gate Security, Escalation Action Layer Badges, Alerts, Logs

Visitor data streams in from web pre-registration, on-site kiosks, and API integrations (Inputs), is ingested and structured (Ingestion), then mapped into an evolving memory/policy graph. The Agent Orchestrator makes context-aware enforcement and routing decisions. If a situation is ambiguous or requires human judgment, it’s escalated to the Human Gate (e.g., security). All actions are executed in the Action Layer: badge printing, access logs, alerts, and compliance reports—creating a closed loop of continuous safety improvement.

Build plan (90 days)

Wedge: Target 100-bed hospitals (acute care, behavioral health) that lack modern visitor management. Integrate with their EHR (Epic, Cerner) and security systems. Launch a web- and kiosk-based MVP with core agentic flows: pre-registration, live badge printing, and dynamic policy updates.

Stack: Azure AD & OpenAI, React kiosk/web, FastAPI Python backend, real-time hospital directory sync, webhook/action integrations for badges and alerts. Memory/Graph layer (custom Neo4j).

Pricing: $800/mo/hospital base SaaS, +$0.03 per visitor session (tiered discounts at scale).

Why now

Post-pandemic staff shortages, rising violence, and regulatory crackdowns on privacy and security make manual visitor management unsustainable. Hospitals are desperate for cost-saving automation that instantly adapts to fast-changing protocols and actually secures the building. AI Orchestration was not viable at the front desk—until now.
